Public Bio: Vega is a difficult person to miss. Blue and orange bubble braids, weighed down with a galaxy of hairclips, announce their presence — and this is before you notice their achingly cool street style, a curated explosion of sunset colours. They seem friendly enough, and willing to let loose, if the lighter half-hidden in their pocket is anything to go by.

All this ignores the elephant in the room — Vega is an artist. An ever-present sketchbook is clutched protectively in paint-stained fingers. Some of you might even remember the signature “Vega” from a psychedelic mural on the edge of campus. Though the sunset-woman has faded from exposure, her sprayed hair gone dull from the elements, there are still stars in her eyes.
