Camp Ohiocester
“Prepare and prevent, don't repair and repent.”
- Herbert Hodgepodge, Camp Director.
Camp Ohiocester finds itself in a beautiful landscape, bordering the lush mountains and forests of Redstone Forest and the Appalake District. While usually a children's summer camp, they've decided to rent it out to students at the Ohiocester State College for much cheaper than most other places.
At the Camp's Research & Recharge programme, you will be able to earn credits for your degree as you complete a project while also immersing yourself in your surroundings and enjoying wellness activities.
The Rules
Hey Acorns! Welcome to the best summer of your life here at Camp Ohiocester. In order to ensure that you have just as much fun as I and the staff do, we have Six Excellent Tenets for you to follow. Know the SET, and you're all set to have a great summer! Hahaha!!!! See what I did there?
- Herbert Hodgepodge, Camp Director
1. No smoking and no alcohol
2. No unpermitted use of technology (cell phones, tablets, etc.)
3. On supervised activities, stay with your camp counsellor at all times
4. Campers must stay on camp grounds and marked trails unless supervised by a camp counsellor
5. Always follow safety instructions and wear the correct gear
6. Follow the Happy Campers Golden Rules
Conveniently, the Golden Rules are written below:
1. Be kind
2. Don't hit others
3. Look out for one another
4. No bad words
5. Tell a counsellor if you see someone breaking the rules
6. Have fun!
(You gather that some of these rules aren't made for adults. Awkward.)
Camp History
Camp Ohiocester was founded 108 years ago by Harden M. Cecil, a member of the Ohiocester State Parliament committed to conservation and youth education. Cecil bought a home for himself, his husband, and his two children around one year prior to the camp's founding. The area around the camp was previously considered uninhabitable due to an infestation of venomous snakes, but after Cecil's eldest daughter wandered into the snakes' forest and returned unharmed, everything changed. The snakes were never seen again, and the land was freed up for use. As a State Parliamentary Representative on the Natural Beauty Committee, Cecil brokered a deal in which the Ohiocester State Government would lease public land to Camp Ohiocester at the price of one dollar sterling per year.
In the many, many years since Cecil’s deal, the camp has flourished, first as a haven for scouting groups, then as a beloved home for young children. Over the past three years, the Camp has collaborated with The Ohiocester State University to host the “Research & Recharge” Programme following the conclusion of the children's summer camp's runtime.
Staff NPCs
Administration
NPC | Pronouns | Description |

Ethan Smith | he/him | An apprentice accountant at the camp. Consistently stressed, and one of the youngest staff members thanks to dropping out of Ohiocester college after one year. Can be found in the administration office desperately trying to sort out some paperwork. |
Miko Ochoa | any | University-appointed “Peer Resource.” Completed Research & Recharge last year and apparently “experienced the most personal growth out of any camper.” |
Damien Cecil-Montgomery | he/xe | Very recently turned 18 and works as a Safety & Health intern at the camp. Xe is a descendant of the original founder of the camp—and he makes sure that everyone knows it. |
Counsellors
NPC | Pronouns | Description |
---|---|---|
Brook Davis | she/her | The Camp Counsellor for Happy Hedgehogs; she's never seen without her cowboy hat. Always grinning even if the situation doesn't call for it. If you ever need help, she will be there at the first call. |
Cyril Lupin Duarte | she/they/he | The Camp Counsellor overseeing the Wild Wolves cabin. She's 31-years old and has been working at the camp for almost a decade. Coming from a family that adores the Britmerican Scouting Association (BSA), they expect discipline and hard work from each and every Wild Wolf. |
Kit Everyst | she/ey | The Crazy Coyotes' cabin leader! Kit has a passion for bringing people together with the power of music. With a flimsy ukulele, a grin so big it might fall off eir face, and a song in her heart, Kit is a fixture of the firepit. |
Juniper Sage | he/him | The camp counsellor of Baby Badgers. Quiet, soft spoken, and utterly out of his depth. Take care not to speak too loudly in his presence – he scares easily, and is often overwhelmed by rambunctious teenagers. |
Other Staff
NPC | Pronouns | Description |
---|---|---|
Ryder Stokes | they/them | A health and safety inspector, rather anxiously clutching their clipboard as if hoping it may protect them. They will ensure all 10 carabiners are securely fastened… or maybe they should check once more? |

Robyn Woods | he/her | As the best (and only nurse) at the camp, Robyn is only slightly displeased to help you with any ailments or injury. There was only a little nepotism involved in him being hired. |
The Shop Cat | it/she | It's a cat. |
Jan Woods | he/him | Camp Ohiocester’s groundskeeper. He’s been around as long as anyone can remember—maybe even longer than the camp itself. A man of few words and many frowns, Jan does not suffer fools lightly. |
Jenny Scott | she/they | While sickeningly sweet on the outside, Jenny can be catty and callous. You've heard rumours that she's made a few kids cry by pushing them into the piranha pool. |
