Rhea was colour. She was all shades and hues. She was passion, excitement, laughter; she surrounded herself in nature, under clear skies and by calm waters; she loved all the mystery of the world. Iris saw her in all those things. And for a time, it pained her. For a time, she felt alone. But she's not alone; she knows that now. The people she’s surrounded by, her friends, know that it’s hard. Some have been there themselves. They are there when she needs them - Aspen, Ivy, Vega, even Margot on occasion. Outside of Camp Ohiocester, they're never more than a text away. It's their advice she turns to when she doesn't know what to do, when it feels like too much all over again. It's their ears she talks off when her project is finally finished and submitted, the cryptids of Redwood Forest more present in her mind than in the finished work. It's their applause she hears above all the rest as she accepts her graduation certificate. Still, even amidst that din, she feels an imagined hand on her shoulder, and knows that Rhea would be proud of her. And she knows that if she keeps following her passions, she can carry a bit of that rainbow with her wherever she goes. That's the thing about them being gone: they aren't really gone while you still remember them. ---- //Written by Dani McA// iris_hunter_graduation.txt Last modified: 2025/10/10 14:38by gm_rei
