====== Bighand ======

Old habits die hard, and old rumours die harder.

Bighand is a lot of things. He's a terrifying monster. He's a creature chased down by curious campers. He's an item of academic fascination. He's an old man in a costume. He's a way to keep nosy noses out of the real cryptids' business. He's a warden of the forest, and a barrier to it.

Jan still keeps the costume in his shed. He doesn't use it anymore--the cryptids clearly want to be seen, and to his chagrin, he's realised that that's their right. He shouldn't be overbearing. Even if he wants nothing more than to protect them from meddling campers and suited businessmen.

Despite that--despite the retirement of the persona--people still talk about Bighand. Campers still say they see him. Strange footprints are still left in the woods, and distant growls still weave their way through the trees. Jan can't explain it. Maybe that's the point.
